Company History

  • 1917
    • Homestead purchased by Herbert Brunnquell near Port Washington, Wisconsin. The office still resides on the homestead.
  • 1967
    • Paul Brunnquell puts up the first chicken house and egg production is added to the dairy farm.
  • 1987
    • John Brunnquell begins marketing cholesterol monitored eggs under the family farm name, "Century Acres." This marks the Brunnquell family entry into specialty eggs.
  • 1994
    • First franchise for reduced cholesterol eggs sold.
  • 1996
    • Patents awarded to UW-Madison for John's research. Trademark was awarded for "Eggstasy" reduced cholesterol eggs.
    • Family of products was expanded to also include Cage Free, Organic, and Vegetarian eggs.
  • 1998
    • Company changed its name to Egg Innovations to more clearly focus on specialty egg marketing.
  • 2000
    • Company built new offices on the homestead.
    • Purchased farm in Indiana to expand production.
    • Began contract with Mennonite family farms in Ohio to support family agriculture.
  • 2002
    • All egg grading moved to Indiana.
    • Company has all organic eggs certified by USDA to assure authenticity.
  • 2003
    • Publishes Company Core Values of:
      • Family Farms not Factory Farms
      • No Cages
      • No Drugs, Hormones or Antibiotics
