John Brunnquell, President & CEO, is a third generation farmer and entrepreneur. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin at Madison with a bachelor’s degree in Agronomy and master’s degree in Poultry Science. His research led to his being awarded patents for both fat and cholesterol reduction in shell eggs. John recently earned his PhD in Avian Ethology at the University of Kentucky. John saw early on that the more natural you made a hen’s environment, the happier and more productive she is. John founded Egg Innovations in 1999, and has led the organization to a national presence, serving on numerous industry boards and committees. John has been recognized numerous times for his volunteer work, including being inducted into the Wisconsin 4-H Hall of Fame and being named an Outstanding Alumni of the University of Wisconsin. He and his wife Cathy were selected as the United States’ Outstanding Young Farmers by both the American Farm Bureau Federation and the National Jaycees organization. John has served as past President of the Wisconsin Agricultural Alumni Association, The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation and Organic Egg Farmers of America.
Ed Wright, Board Member graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration from the Falls School of Business at Anderson University. He is a seasoned sales, marketing and trusted relationship executive with experience in food, beverage, retail and private label manufacturing industry. Ed's career includes 30 years with Daymon, culminating in his being named President and COO of North America. In his work today, he supports the growth, success and strategic decisions for growing companies.
John Hornbostel, Vice President of Sustainability & Milling graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a degree in Agricultural Economics and Journalism; and an MBA from Bowling Green State University. John’s career includes over 20 years of work in advertising, public relations, manufacturing and international business development. His global clients have included Toyota, Ford and a variety of agricultural equipment manufacturers. John joined Egg Innovations in January of 2012.
Steve Hagopian, Vice President of Sales & Marketing graduated from Westminster College in Fulton, MO with a degree in Political Science. Steve has made his career in the Consumer Products Industry, working for Procter & Gamble, Quaker Oats, Ralston Purina, Ralcorp Holdings, and Vi-Jon Laboratories, along with starting his own Private Label food company with three partners, in 1998. He has specialized in Sales and Marketing throughout his career. Steve joined Egg Innovations in January of 2009.
Cathy Brunnquell, Vice President of Credit & Consumer Relations attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. She has spent the last 20 years in a variety of roles with the company in addition to being being involved in various agricultural organizations. She joins the senior management team taking an active role in strategic planning and enhancing the customer experience at Egg Innovations.
Steve LaQua, Vice President of Business Development attended St. John’s University and Capella University, graduating summa cum laude with a degree in Business Management, with an emphasis in Leadership. Steve’s 25+ year career in the CPG industry has been focused primarily in food, working for a variety of companies including; Bimbo Bakeries/Sara Lee, Schwan’s Company and Sparboe Foods. Areas of focus include Sales, Marketing, Customer Strategy and Business Development. Steve joined Egg Innovations in March 2020.
